Thoughts from Dr. Cohen:

Tomorrow begins what we call our October Count Window. October Count is how we are funded each year: It is based on our attendance on October 1. For those that do not know, public schools in Colorado are funded on a per pupil basis. Our annual funding is determined by the attendance we show on October 1. I know enrollment can fluctuate over the course of the year, and this type of funding does not take into account any increase in enrollment over the course of the year. That is, however, why it is very important for schools to ensure they are adequately funded as much as possible. Please ensure your students are at school the next two weeks, especially on October 1. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
