From the Principal

From the Principal:

Dear Harmony Ridge P-8 Families,

As the Principal of the new Harmony Ridge P-8, I am thrilled to welcome you to our building for the 2020-21 school year! Our new school will serve students in preschool through eighth grade and will provide STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) opportunities for every student. I am honored to serve our community and look forward to partnering with all of you. I know that our staff members, alongside our families, will make sure that all of our scholars have the opportunities and resources to shape successful futures.

As our staff members prepare to welcome students, there will be many opportunities for parents to get involved. We value parent volunteers, PTO engagement and a genuine partnership with our families, inclusive of feedback and your thoughts on how we are doing.

Not only am I excited to begin working with your children, but I look forward to the work that you and I will do together to support our scholars. As the old African Proverb states, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Well, here we are, and we are just beginning to build the village together. I cannot wait to hear your hopes and dreams for your children and learn how to best support them. I look forward to seeing your children through your eyes, as you know them best. I look forward to being a part of this village that we are building together.

When opening a new school, we have an opportunity to create a space in which ALL students are challenged and supported to reach their highest potential. We can create a space in which students learn to read, verify sources, put together the pieces and create new solutions. If we emphasize critical thinking, problem solving and skills development, we can create a space in which all scholars have the opportunity to truly take ownership of their learning and become life-long learners and creators.

In order to accomplish all of this incredible work, our staff is committed to making sure that all of our scholars are healthy, happy and safe so that they can learn as much as they can.

At Harmony Ridge, we design our futures!

Sincerely,

Principal Nadine Ritchotte
